Wings For Wheels

As promised, here's the link to Dave Lifton's Weblog entry for the episode where we discuss some great Sinatra songs.

Here's the MP3 for direct download.

I had a blast doing the show with Dave, and hearing his picks and his perspective. I hope you enjoy listening to it.

On another subject, thanks to everyone who has gotten in touch about the hiatus for The Frank Truth. I sincerely hope to be back with the show some time in 2008.

Thank You For Listening

Due to a personal matter which requires my undivided attention, there will be no new episodes of The Frank Truth for the foreseeable future. I have truly enjoyed producing this show for you over the past several years, and I hope that you will continue to enjoy the episodes in the archives.

Show #81: Songs By Sinatra with The Andrews Sisters

Click here for the MP3 of the show.

Songs By Sinatra

Originally Broadcast on the CBS Radio Network on November 14th of 1945, this time we're listening to "Songs By Sinatra" - Frank Sinatra's Radio Show, with special guests The Andrews Sisters. The orchestra was conducted by Axel Stordahl, and the Pied Pipers were also on hand. Though the quality of the recording leaves something to be desired (not having been intended to survive past the initial broadcast), these old shows give us insight into the music and culture of one of the most amazing periods of American history. I'm including the original commercials for Old Gold cigarettes.

Songs:
  • Night and Day (Opening Theme)
  • That's For Me
  • A Kiss Goodnight (?)
  • We'll Be Together Again
  • How Deep Is The Ocean
  • Begin The Beguine
  • Medley
  • Put Your Dreams Away (Closing Theme)

This show was licensed by BMI and ASCAP. The old time radio program presented in this episode is a work in the Public Domain. We encourage you to purchase and enjoy legally distributed music.
