here's a portion of jimmy's email with his sinatra playlists:

I love the fact that iTunes lets you play around so easily with tracks and whilst I love to play the albums in their entirety, it is nice to be able make your own up and give them a little title.

First up is my biggest play list, a real mixture of styles, themes and moods from all across my collection which is mainly made up of Capitol albums. Just a Pot-Pourri if you like.

The Chairman’s Choice

Saturday Night (Is The Loneliest Night Of The Week) – Come Dance With Me
Moonlight In Vermont – Come Fly With Me
That Old Black Magic – Come Swing With Me
In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning - In The Wee Small Hours
How Deep Is The Ocean – Nice ‘N’ Easy
One For My Baby – Only The Lonely
I’ve Got You Under My Skin – Songs For Swingin’ Lovers
I’ll Be Seeing You – Point Of No Return
Nancy (With The Laughing Face) – Sinatra’s Sinatra
Night And Day – A Swingin Affair
A Cottage For Sale – No One Cares
Angel Eyes – Only The Lonely
Witchcraft - Sinatra’s Sinatra
You Make Me Feel So Young - Songs For Swingin’ Lovers
I Get A Kick Out Of You – Songs For Young Lovers
Get Happy – Swing Easy
The Lady Is A Tramp - A Swingin Affair (Bonus Track)
Summer Wind – Strangers In The Night
The Girl From Ipanema - Francis Albert Sinatra & Antonio Carlos Jobim
Ol’ Man River – The Concert Sinatra

Here’s a couple I did that have more of a theme.

Sinatra Sadness

Only a few on this one in case I get too depressed!

I Get Along Without You Very Well – In The Wee Small Hours
Here’s That Rainy Day – No One Cares
There Will Never Be Another You – Point Of No Return
Maybe You’ll Be There – Where Are You?
Love’s Been Good To Me – A Man Alone I know in this song the man says he is happy but the sadness comes through especially in the melody.
Somewhere Along The Way – Point Of No Return
It Was A Very Good Year – September Of My Years – Another reflective song and he picks out the good points of his life but I can’t help feeling a little sad.
I’ll Never Smile Again – No One Cares

And as a complete antidote…..

Fun With Frank

Come Fly With Me – Come Fly With Me
On The Sunny Side Of The Street – Come Swing With Me
Makin’ Whoopee – Songs For Swingin’ Lovers
Nice Work If You Can Get It – A Swingin’ Affair
Fly Me To The Moon – Sinatra/Basie – It Might As Well Be Swing
Let’s Get Away From It All – Come Fly With Me
Something’s Gotta Give – Come Dance With Me
At Long Last Love – A Swingin’ Affair
Too Marvellous For Words - Songs For Swingin’ Lovers
The Best Is Yet To Come - Sinatra/Basie – It Might As Well Be Swing

Hope they prove interesting but one of the wonderful things about Sinatra I think is that there is something for everyone. What one Sinatra fan enjoys, another may not but I guarantee if you listen to enough of his material you will find gem after gem of simply glorious music.

The Sinatra song that I do not like at all is "High Hopes" from Classic Sinatra II.

Brian, I don't think "A Swingin' Affair!" as "Songs for Swingin' Lovers" 2. I refer to it as the best Sinatra album I've ever heard. I first bought "Swingin' Lovers" and then I bought "Swingin' Affair!" second and I must say that "Swingin' Affair!" is a superior album.
