Softly, As I Leave You

Francis Albert Sinatra passed from this life on the evening of Thursday, May 14th, 1998 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. We remember him always, but especially this weekend. We remember his family in our prayers.

This week's Podcast is 3 minutes and 43 seconds of complete silence (this being the running time of Frank's recording of "I've Got You Under My Skin" as released on "Songs For Swingin' Lovers"). I could think of no more fitting way to mark seven years "without a song."

In our home Saturday evening, we plan to observe the silence and then to listen to some of our favorite Sinatra recordings, or perhaps watch one of his movies.

We are fortunate indeed that he left behind such a marvelous and extensive legacy of stellar performances. Each time that we enjoy his work we celebrate, once again, a fabulous, remarkable life.
